In the complete evaluation of the baby after birth, we will review:
- Skull and vertebral column (possible presence of deformities, torticollis, etc. Especially important in multiple pregnancies, if it comes from the breech or if there has been instrumentalization or clavicle fracture).
- Digestive system (existence of reflux, colic, disquecia or false constipation, advice to detect symptoms at home, etc.).
- Nervous system (observation of the baby's response to different movements, reflex testing, muscle tone, etc. Especially recommended for premature babies or complicated deliveries).
- Musculoskeletal system (assessment of joints and their functionality, especially hips, clavicles, ankles and feet).
- Orofacial system (assessment of attachment and sucking on the breast or bottle. Fundamental during the first weeks, if there is pain in the mother or feeding problems in the child).
- Porting: advice for carrying out autonomous porting. Benefits and fundamentals of it.
This first assessment will allow us to have a broad vision of the newborn.
